I picked up the Ulta Beauty Collection Weightless Water Lip Stain in Mango Dreams ($10 USD) online after going through a phase of wanting orange lip products (I have no idea why, but I’m over it now lol).
I like lip stains in the summer, they are easy to put on and I love the light color that is left on my lips as gloss and other products wear off.
The Weightless Water Lip Stain is super watery. It so watery that the container fell over on my white beauty table and stained the desk (temporarily) ugh!
TL:DR (Too Long Didn’t Read) on the Ulta Beauty Collection Weightless Water Lip Stain:
- Too watery (spills out easily)
- Doesn’t add any moisture to the lips
- Unflattering shade on the lips
- Overpriced
Ulta Beauty Collection Weightless Water Lip Stain Review
The mango dreams shade itself looks pretty on swatches, but doesn’t look good on my lips. My lips end up looking flushed, but in a sickly Jaunice type of way.
The thin formula dries down to a semi-matte finish, so it doesn’t add any moisture to the lips. This product was just an overall fail for me.
In general, Ulta Collection products are hit or miss so definitely look at reviews before grabbing any of their products.
Is the Ulta Beauty Collection Weightless Water Lip Stain worth it?
No, this lip stain is not worth the $10. I’ve seen other beauty lovers try this lip stain and the pink shades look pretty (on all skin tones), so I could try a different shade but the product isn’t worth $10.
Also, I don’t like the super liquid-y formula. I can see it spilling all over my bag, and making a mess!
I still like lip stains but I prefer more cream formulas that give more of a hydrating sheen to the lips.
I really like the ELF Lip stains, they’re a creamy gloss type of formula, at a better price (just $6) and with more shades to choose from.
