I’ve been using this product for so long, but only on my body and I will not be putting this on my face in the future.
So the Nivea cream has been one of my favorite body care products for a very long time.
I’ve purchased it in many different versions.
I have individual containers for travel for hand cream, and then I use the bigger containers of it as a body moisturizer.
It is amazing at giving my skin visible moisture, and it lasts a long time.
It’s just a holy grail product that I will continue to purchase until the end of time (dramatic much?).
I didn’t even have to purchase this product because I have a Nivea cream on hand at all times, but I decided to try it as facial cream after seeing one of my Youtubers use it.
I was shocked that she was using it on her face, but I forgot it’s also considered a drugstore alternative to the Le Mer Crème.
So, I thought, why not try it!
TL:DR (Too Long Didn’t Read) on the Nivea Moisturizing Cream:
- It’s amazing as a body moisturizer adding visible moisture to the skin
- It feels very heavy on the skin (as a face moisturizer)
- It’s too thick to be worn all day
- Oily skin and combination skin should really stay away from this (as a face moisturizer)
Nivea Moisturizing Cream Product Review:
I do love the product, but it is not for the face.
Maybe dry skin types could use the cream more as a mask, but not necessarily as a moisturizer to wear all day.
I’ve been using the Nivea moisturizing cream for a very long time.
But it’s way too heavy on the skin as a facial moisturizer.
Maybe using it as a facial mask (that you leave on for 10 minutes or so and then wash off), could be helpful for those who need a shot of moisture.
But, if you have oily skin or combination skin, It’s just too heavy.
It sits on top of the skin, never sinking in.
Originally it goes on really beautifully and I’m shocked at how hydrated my skin looks.
But then, even after a few hours, I just start to feel like my face is greasy and I don’t like the greasy feeling.
I’m usually wearing makeup during the day and so, even when I wore this product with makeup on top, it became shiny fast.
Even when I only had skincare on, my face got so greasy that I had to wash my face. I couldn’t take it for more than a few hours.
I tried to make it work, and I couldn’t make it work.
It’s too oily, too greasy, too heavy, and sits too heavy on the skin as a facial moisturizer.
Is the Nivea Moisturizing Cream worth it?
Absolutely. 100%. It is worth it as a moisturizer for the body… maybe as a facial mask that gets washed off.
I wouldn’t recommend it for your day-to-day moisturizer unless you have extremely dry skin that just really needs that heavy shot of moisture.
Nivea Moisturizing Cream product review rating (as a facial moisturizer): Bad
