I love this product! It is a staple in my morning skincare routine. I always incorporate serums to target dark spots in my skincare routine.
I find that this the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution as well as the Hero Cosmetics Niacinamide Lightning Wand (read review here) work seamlessly with makeup, sunscreen and anything else I add on top of it.
It takes about 3 weeks (or a little more) to really see results with this serum.
It seems like nothing happening and then BAM, you notice the spot is significantly lightened or gone!
I can’t tell for sure if this serum is doing all of the work, or if it’s the combination of this product with the Hero Cosmetics Lightening Wand but still…this product is effective.
I will continue to buy it over and over again. Bonus! Since I use this product on targeted areas, it lasts longer!

- This serum works! If you are patient
- Smaller versions (Travel size) last a long time if using as a spot treatment
- It’s better formulated than other dark spot serums
Does Kiehl’s Dark Spot work?
The Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, as well as the Hero Cosmetics are the two products responsible for getting rid of my dark spots after having blemishes or acne of any kind.
The key is to start using the solution (it’s just a serum with a fancy name), as soon as you can after a blemish occurs. It’s great for post-acne marks or as an all over acne control serum.
The versatility of using the Dark Spot Solution on spots and as a preventative serum with amazing ingredients (Activated Vitamin C & Salicylic Acid) gives it the edge on the Hero Cosmetics Lightening Wand.
But, I still use both regularly. Kiehl’s in the morning, and Hero Cosmetics at night.
This serum, like the Hero Cosmetics, doesn’t do a lot for the hyperpigmentation around my mouth.
But, as a spot treatment and overall gentle acne fighter, I love it. (I don’t have acne prone skin, but I do get about one acne spot every month or so)
Note: This is my third time using the Dark Spot Solution so although there is product left in this picture, I am sure of the great results!
