The new Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Brightening Under Eye Concealer SPF 25 ($28) was sent to me, but I am not obligated to write a review of the product.
This may be good news for Bare Minerals because I don’t like this concealer at all.
I am not a fan of the popular Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer, which shares a similar name and is formulated like this concealer.
But, I was open to trying the concealer mostly because I’ve been obsessed with concealer lately.
The Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Brightening Under Eye Concealer product is described as a “gel-mousse concealer immediately, visibly brightens the under-eye area for a fresh, wide-awake look and is clinically shown to reduce visible under-eye puffiness after two weeks. The crease-resistant formula won’t cake on skin and provides all-day wear. It also protects with mineral SPF 25” Description taken from Sephora.com.
TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read) on the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Under Eye Concealer SPF 25:
- I don’t like this concealer at all
- It’s greasy, and has a gritty texture
- It gives very little coverage to my dark under-eyes
Did Bare Minerals re-release the same product?!
Even though I’ve tried the Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer twice over the years.
I didn’t like how greasy the tinted moisturizer formula was and how it broke up on the skin. It was basically streaky!
The coverage was too light and didn’t play well with other products.
So, would the new Complexion Rescue Concealer perform better than the tinted moisturizer?
Turns out, it performs just like the tinted moisturizer for me.
I do think the concealer has more coverage than the tinted moisturizer, but it’s still not enough to compete with well formulated concealers on the market right now.
Is the Bare Mineral Rescue Complexion Concealer worth it?
No, I don’t think this concealer is worth the $28 price tag. Drugstore concealers are almost out performing high end products at this point, so the Complexion Rescue Concealer just isn’t cutting it.
It did not visibly brighten my under eye area, and it definitely creased throughout the day.
Although I like the idea of a concealer with SPF (this concealer has SPF 25), the product feels like a more concentration version of their Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer.
However, the coverage is still too light to cover dark circles and the formula just isn’t for me.
