Covergirl Clean Fresh Skincare Color Correcting Serum Moisturizer Primer in Dark Spot Neutralizer (Orange) Review

Covergirl Clean Fresh Skincare Color Correcting Serum Moisturizer Primer in Dark Spot Neutralizer (Orange) Review

I noticed the new Covergirl Clean Fresh Color Correcting product line on a Pinterest advertisement and then later I saw a TV commercial for it.

Strangely enough, I hadn’t seen any beauty influencers talk about the product.

It’s an interesting idea.  The 4-in-1 product is supposed to act as a color corrector, serum, moisturizer, and primer!

It’s hard to find a product that can deliver on just one of it’s claims let alone four different claims!

The Covergirl Clean Fresh Skincare Color Correcting Serum Moisturizer Primer ($14-20) is described as a “Color Correcting Serum Moisturizer Primer in one calms & corrects tone-related sensitivity issues instantly and over time, while strengthening skin’s natural moisture barrier”.

“Dark Spot Neutralizer (Orange Shade) – For Deep Skin Tones: Features an orange tone to reduce grayness, correct dark spots, dullness, dark circles and even skin tone”. Description taken from Covergirl.com.

I purchased the Covergirl Clean Fresh Skincare Color Correcting Serum Moisturizer Primer at Target for $14.99.

TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read) on the Covergirl Color Correcting Primer:

  • This product did absolutely nothing for my skin
  • The coverage is zero to sheer at best, and didn’t neutralize my skin tone
  • It does provide a light hydration, without being greasy

This 4-in-1 product was surprising AND underwhelming

I was very surprised to see that the Covergirl Clean Fresh Correcting Primer blended well into the skin, and gave my skin a light coverage of hydration…but absolutely nothing else.

There was no visible color correcting, nor did the serum, moisturizer, primer neutralize my skin tone.

The product blended into the skin SO MUCH that it didn’t appear to do anything but hydrate.

Is the Covergirl Clean Fresh Skincare Color Correcting Serum Moisturizer Primer in Dark Spot Neutralizer (Orange) worth it?

I appreciate the fact that I was able to add liquid and powder products on top of the primer with no issues.

My face didn’t appear any more shiny throughout the day, and the primer didn’t break up or separate on my skin throughout the day.

But no, this product is not worth it and didn’t do anything to neutralize or cover my dark spots.
