The dry textured swatch was misleading, this is a good product!
I received the Lancôme Idôle Tint Long Wear Liquid Eyeshadow and Eyeliner in Earth Red for review by the brand.
Upon swatching, I thought that it looked sort of dry and the color looked dull.
But after wearing the eyeshadow a few times and a few different ways, I actually really like it.
TL:DR (Too Long Didn’t Read) on the Lancôme Idôle Tint Long Wear Liquid Eyeshadow and Eyeliner:
- It’s pigmented
- It lasts a long time, 8+ hours
- The finish is not as dry as it appears on swatches
- Can be used in a multitude of ways as eyeshadow, blush or eyeliner
- Works best as an eyeshadow
Lancôme Idôle Tint Long Wear Liquid Eyeshadow and Eyeliner Review:
At first I didn’t really care for the color.
I thought it was a little bit dull, but it actually is a lot prettier on the skin.
So with all of these Lancome liquid eyeshadows, you can use them as blush, or you can use them all around the eyes.
I did a number of different looks where I tried it as a one shadow eye look.
It’s a beautiful eyeshadow.
It dries really fast, so you have to work quickly but the matte finish also makes the shadow long wearing.
I’ve worn the pigment as eyeshadow and as blush and it lasts 8 hours plus on me.
Wearing the Idole Tint Liquid Eyeshadow in Earth Red as a blush looks pretty on my skin tone, but is harder to work with.
Blending with a brush is almost impossible.
It kind of just sits where it sits and it’s hard to blend in because it dries so fast.
Blending it with fingers works a little bit better, but again you have to sort of tap it all and hurry!
For that reason I don’t know that I would consider it my top choice for a liquid product that I could use as a blush.
As an eyeshadow the Idole Tint is matte, but not too matte.
It does not crease or anything like that, and it doesn’t get crusty or dry throughout the day.
The swatch (pictured above) looked a lot drier than what it wears on the eyes.
But, I use the product wand to apply the shadow, and a brush to blend as normal.
Overall, the Lancome Idole Tint Liquid Eyeshadow & Eyeliner in Earth Red is a nice product that is easier to work with as an eyeshadow (ie. Doesn’t dry down as fast).
Is the Lancôme Idôle Tint Long Wear Liquid Eyeshadow and Eyeliner worth it?
Maybe. I’m actually surprised at how vibrant the shade is compared to the swatch.
I’m impressed with the long wearability and the fact that it is matte but not crusty and dull as I thought it was going to be.
My only issue is that it dries down very fast. At $30 USD, the formula should be advanced enough to give you some “play time” before drying down. So on one hand it’s a good product, but on the other hand its expensive with a learning curve.
