There’s never a reason to buy a $90 primer, and this primer is good, but you can find a good primer for 1/3 third of this cost.
I received a sample of the Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Primer as a free gift with purchase probably from Sephora.
This primer has a cloud like texture, and soft matte finish.
It’s silicone type texture is very similar to the popular Smashbox Photo Finish primer.
It’s very easy to apply, and instantly smooths the skin in that silicone primer type of way.
TL:DR (Too Long Didn’t Read) on the Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Primer:
- It is smoothing to the skin
- Has a light sort of silicone texture
- Pairs well with all types of foundation products
- Not worth the $90
Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Primer Review:
It wears really beautifully with makeup on top, and I was able to use this sample about three times.
The primer did help extend my makeup wear, with natural finish and matte finish foundation.
The product definitely adds some smoothness to the to the products that you put on top.
But overall, I think that you can get this same type of finish with less expensive primers.
For example, the Smashbox Photo Finish primer or other silicone based drugstore primers.
Is the Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Primer product worth it?
No, it’s a really beautiful formula, a very soft and cloud like texture with a smoothing result to the skin.
I definitely think it extends the wear of your makeup and makes your foundation and the products on top feel smooth.
But it is not worth $90 unless you simply prefer to use luxury makeup products.
There are similar products from prestige level brands and drugstore brands.
