Clinique Moisture Surge Broad Spectrum SPF 28 Sheer Hydrator Moisturizer

Clinique Moisture Surge SPF 28 Sheer Hydrator Moisturizer

This is the longest title for a moisturizer and the greasiest finish.

I was so excited about this moisturizer when it was released.

I LOVE the Clinique Moisture Surge line (which includes 2 different moisturizers, a cleaner, etc.) and wanted to add the new SPF version to my list of Clinique loves…but no, I do not love this moisturizer AT ALL.

TL:DR (Too Long Didn’t Read) on the Clinique Moisture Surge SPF 28 Sheer Hydrator Moisturizer product:

  • It’s greasy and oily.
  • It is dark skin girl friendly with no white cast.
  • Lightweight on initial application, but gets greasy within 1-2 hours.

Clinique Moisture Surge SPF 28 Sheer Hydrator Moisturizer Review:

The Clinique Moisture Surge SPF 28 Sheer Hydrator Moisturizer does not have enough SPF coverage according to the AAD (American Academy of Dermatology) that recommends daily use of an SPF 30 or higher.

But I will say, it is dark skinned girl friendly.

It blends in with no white cast, which I was really excited about, but this stuff is oily!

Its oily, greasy, and not in a pretty glowy way.

The product blends in at first.

But, after an hour or two, you really start to get shiny.

If you are oily skin, do not use this moisturizer.

If you have combination skin, I would still leave it alone.

Only the dry-est skin types would like this formula.

Even then, you can only wear it during the day as SPF is not recommended for evening use.

I was really impressed by the thin formula that blends into the skin with no white cast.  But, It’s greasy.

Its so greasy after 1-2 hours that I won’t be using it anymore.

For $48 USD, I expected a better formula that would work for all skin types.

I really enjoy the Clinique Moisture Surge line but this is an easy pass for me.

Even with a matte makeup primer, this moisturizer quickly made my face shiny after just a few hours.

Is the Clinique Moisture Surge SPF 28 Sheer Hydrator Moisturizer product worth it?

No.  For most beauties, even if you have dry skin, this moisturizer is too oily and too greasy to wear throughout the day and to pair with makeup.
